“Busy boys Miles Beckett and Greg Goodfried, the brains behind EQAL and the online web phenomenon lonelygirl15, have been blowing up lately. Having recently launched a community-sourced web series LG15: The Show Is Yours, creators of the LG15 Universe have announced a license agreement with a Polish media company for a new story in the LG15 canon: n1ckola—all this on the heels of another announcement for a multi-platform mystery web series in partnership with CBS Interactive Harper’s Globe, which will complement Jon Turtletaub’s new prime time television series Harper’s Island premiering on CBS in April.”

NewTeeVee, Tilzytv, and Tubefilter have joined together to host The Streamy Awards, which celebrates and honors excellence in web television. Please nominate all of your favorite LG15 shows, cast, and crew for The Streamy Awards.

Nominations for The Streamy Awards will close this Friday, January 23, at 11:59 PM (PST).

Update from Poland: Greg and Miles are in Warsaw, Poland this week on a press tour for N1ckola.  Here is an article in Poland’s leading newspaper, Gazeta.  It’s a fun read if you use an internet translator.  Greg and Miles are both armed with video cameras and InsideLG15 will feature video of their travels next week.

EQAL, Polish Producers Partner on ‘Lonelygirl’ Spinoff

“The producers behind “Lonelygirl15” and “KateModern” inked a deal to license a new show in the “Lonelygirl15” saga to Polish producers Agora and A2 Multimedia, the companies announced today. The new show, “N1ckola,” blends reality, documentary and fiction, said EQAL, the creators of the show.”

“It was always our hope to expand the ‘LG15’ universe into new countries through full-format licensing deals like this one with Agora,” said Greg Goodfried, one of the EQAL founders. “‘N1ckola’ is the perfect example of a business model we’d like to replicate in the future in even more countries.”

Wow, wow, wow! All of the pilot submissions for LG15: The Show Is Yours are outstanding! Every person who entered (and their cast and crews) should be very proud of their accomplishment.

The chosen pilot will be announced on Monday, January 26, 2009. Stay tuned for details on the time and place - we’ll be announcing this live!
