Discuss the LG15 Happenings!

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Recently, we’ve seen new activity in the LG15 Universe. First the Hymn of One updates their website, and Edward Salinas’ website gets hacked (read about it here), and then someone discovered a new press release on the Verdus Pharmaceuticals website (read about it here). There have been a flurry of comments as people look for other changes and updates.

Head to the lonelygirl15 forums to talk about the changes and offer your theories. Discuss what you’ve found and what sites are canon to the LG15 universe in Plot Discussion (see this thread for example), consider possible clues in the websites in Clues & Puzzles (such as this thread about Salinas’ website), and discuss your theories about the Resistance in the new Resistance area of the forum.

While you’re there, this area of the forum is a great place to talk about community-created videos and stories, including those being featured during Community Week.

The LGPedia is your reference for everything related to the LG15 Universe. Scour the LGPedia for websites you may have missed and information about community videos. And while you’re there, why not help out?

We’re back!

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

After a short hiatus, InsideLG15 is back!

Our first order of business is to announce the winner of the Poem Contest. This was an incredible contest, which included both serious and humorous entries from Bree to Thor, P. Monkey to Bree, P. Monkey to Jonas, Ted McKinley to Sarah, Lucy to her sunglasses, several from Jennie to Jonas, and of course one from Jonas to his hair. If you haven’t read all of the entries take a few minutes to do so. They are heartfelt and funny…this was a very difficult contest to judge.

Congratulations goes to QtheC (who also had the idea for the contest)!! Please email Amanda at amanda@lg15.com to claim your prize.

Watcher I Am

By QtheC

When you took your first steps, I looked in from the alley
As you spoke your first words, I made a quick talley

On your third birthday, I bought you ‘Big Bear’
with video eyes, and a microphone ear

when you told Bear stories, and played peek-a-boo
I was there listening, peeking back at you

Remember that fire, and all those alarms?
I went into the smoke, carried you out in my arms

And when you drew angels, in black tie and black suit
I have to admit, I found it quite cute

That time when those boys pushed you right off the swings
I helped the young bullies understand a few things

when you tipped your canoe, toppled into the drink
I dove in shoes and all, as quick as a wink

I checked for danger, before you entered a room
Any who harmed you, heard my hymn of doom

When Jonas fell for LaResizto’s snare,
I tried to protect you, and not interfere

But when Claire threatened to shoot you dead,
I got that ‘b’ first, one shot to the head

From William Porter, to save you I tried,
and in the process, I finally died

Why did I do it? you ask little lamb
Just doin’ my job maam, Watcher I am.

To serve in this way, was for me no dilemma
The daughter I’d wish for, would have been Emma.

Why do we fight? Why is it necessary to have a Resistance group?

This week LG15.com will feature Community videos that explore the evilness of The Order and why we must fight. These can be new videos or previously posted as part of a fan series, video blog, or a music video. Submit your video in the comments below.

If you’ve spent this summer creating artwork or writing poetry about why we fight, then please submit it to Amanda at amanda@lg15.com. Your work could be featured here on InsideLG15.

A special thanks to Meredith and Rachel (employees at EQAL), who helped me plan the wrap party. I couldn’t have done it without them! It was such a special night and a thrill to see everyone together again.

LG15.com Website of the Day

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Website of the Day from Cynopsis.com

“It’s a bittersweet day for fans of the long-running web series lonelygirl15, as the creators at EQAL studios will finally put Bree and her supporting cast to bed after more than 550 episodes. (O.K., they’re short episodes, but still; to compare, Gunsmoke did 635 episodes.) To commemorate the occasion, LG15.com will be uploading a new segment every hour today beginning at 11 am ET/8 am PT for 12 straight hours. If you’re one of the fanatics don’t worry - all is not lost. The studio says the convoluted mythology behind the show will live on in a new series premiering next month. Check out some of the mashups and tributes fans have uploaded to give the show a proper send off. The key takeaway that came from the Crowdsourcing panel I hosted at NATPE’s LATV event on Wednesday was that passion is what drives users to pour their blood, sweat and tears into collaborative sites and projects. These are certainly passionate folks!”

You certainly are! This community has made the blood, sweat and tears worth it!
