Submit Your Social Show Pilot!
Do you think you have what it takes to make the next LG15 series? Here’s your chance! Submit your ORIGINAL LG15 PILOT and get the chance to see your show be the featured content on LG15.com.
The chosen video pilot may be turned into a full-length social show, which will be the featured content for eight (8) weeks beginning in February 2009.
The Pilot:
- Your pilot must be derivative of the LG15 Universe by building upon the mythology of lonelygirl15, KateModern, and LG15: The Resistance. For more information on LG15, please read the LGPedia, the #1 resource on all things LG15.
- The pilot can either be Episode One of your proposed show or a Pilot Presentation, which gives a general idea of the look and feel of the proposed show. It must be no more than 5 minutes in length.
- Upload your video to YouTube and send the link with your social show treatment to pilot@lg15.com. All pilots will be showcased on Inside LG15 and the LG15 YouTube page (this channel will now be the center of the LG15 Universe, so please subscribe!).
- All video submissions must also include an 8-week social show treatment that outlines your story, characters, and interactivity. Your treatment must incorporate all aspects of a social show. A social show is an experience on a website where a community participates in a specific entertainment property by viewing and discussing videos and other multimedia content, and by interacting with the characters through profile pages, commenting, and chat.
- We will begin accepting videos on December 29, 2008. The deadline for submission is Monday, January 19, 2009 at 3:00 PM PST. The selected pilot will be announced on January 26, 2009.
If Chosen:
- If your pilot is chosen to be the featured content on LG15.com, it will become part of the LG15 canon. You will be asked to assist in the creation of one piece of content each day, Monday through Friday. This will require at least 2 videos per week, plus additional content such as pictures, text blogs, and interactivity. Other members of the LG15 community and EQAL may also contribute to the creation of the featured content.
- An EQAL producer may consult with you and your production team and review scripts and videos to ensure that your story is consistent with the LG15 Universe and uploaded in a timely manner for the benefit of the community.
- EQAL may also create a custom show page for your show that will be a sub-domain of LG15.com (e.g. LG15.com/yourshow).
- For more information about how your content will be used on LG15.com and by EQAL and others about your obligations and the rights you will grant without monetary consideration, please refer to our Terms of Use. Your submission of material further confirms your acceptance of the Terms of Use.

1. Sounds awesome.
2. Misuse/wrong example of “sub-domain”. yourshow.lg15.com would be a subdomain. What you’re showing is a folder.
3. Maybe you could/should add things that are off limits, I’m thinking specifically copyright-wise - e.g. unless Glenn is submitting, touching OpAphid would be unwise. Same goes for mainstream music. And you know how we are…without limits, half the submissions will include the return of Bree

This sounds a lot more indpeth than I originally expected. Whatever the reason for the hiatus with LG15 The Resistance, this project is a good and worthwhile thing (in my eyes at least).
I personally have no ideas for this, but I look forward to seeing what the community comes up with and will help anyone in any way I can!

Will there be any sort of monetary compensation for the picked pilot and subsequent 8 week run of the series? Because that is a lot of work to be done!
I’m just concerned that a lot of quality ideas may not make it to the table for fear of the time commitment involved.

This sounds awesome. I lack the talent to make a submission but I can’t wait to see what people come up with. That being said I have a question.
We don’t need a definitive date but can we have an idea on the time table for season two of The Resistance? The ambiguous information so far makes it seem like there won’t be any new content for months.
Even if the community winner’s series starts filming and posting just a few weeks after being selected if you factor in the eight weeks then we’re not looking at new Resistance material until at least sometime in April. Are we waiting for Maggie to get preggers?
Can we at least continue to get a Saturday video to tid us over? If not these are going to be some lean times. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful but… dang.

I like the idea of featering a show made by a community member on lg15.com. I also like the length of it, 8 weeks is a good time period. But I really hope that the second season of the Resistance comes back after this. Is it sure there will be a second season of the Resistance anyway, because it sounds like you (the creators) aren’t sure about that yet…

It’s going to become canon? I assume no one can try to declare themselves Jonas’s long lost brother or something silly like that, then. Or at least…you wouldn’t let anyone do that in a canon show, right? It bugs me when people invent family members like that even in normal fanfiction. xD
Well, I definitely wouldn’t submit my own idea to this; no time to put in that much of a commitment. I do hope that the people whose shows don’t get chosen continue their shows anyway, though, because it’ll encourage me to still try doing my own, on however small of a scale it may be. =3

im not going to lie either, I absolutely love this idea and i hope you can assure the community that it’ll work out completly fine, and there will be no UCG Limitation issues.
I cant wait for this, but everyone is wondering about if theres a new season of TR. well, maybe you dont know, maybe you dont want to give away too much information.. i mean some of the actors might have other projects. Like marnette has a movie coming up in 2009, jackson also does.. so maybe all your actors might not be available when needed. so your waiting to announce if theres a new season or not. or if your just going to take a little break (like now)
in other words. i cant wait for the new ideas. its gonna be fun

Maybe rather than monetary compensation (because the series might not make money), any chance of offering some prizes that may help with production. Maybe some sponsors would be willing to donate stuff? Just throwing out random ideas because, well, I’m random like that.
I think until this series starts you should put random community videos on the main page. I’ve always enjoyed that. Good exposure for fan series.

I am loving this so much. I’ve had an idea planned for a fan spin-off for so long now, and had nowhere to go with it. This is my opportunity to grow with it! And even if it isn’t the winning show, I may have an idea so strong I can finally start a community show.

I don’t ever really post on any of these things but I just had to state my opinion on this. I Really don’t like this idea at all. I love lg15 because it’s more professional then a bunch of fans making videos. No offense to any of that..because I love making videos..but it’s not something I can find myself getting into alot. Unless the winner has gone to school and knows about this kind of stuff I really don’t see myself enjoying it that much. Cheap camera’s, bad acting,…not my thing. It’s fun to do…but to entertain a crowd this big is not a good idea. I had slowly been losing my interst to lg15 after it ended but after the 12 in 12..it had regained my love for the show! But after this..I’m quite upset and I know I will lose interest yet again. And if the next season…if it does ever come..won’t be back for so long…that I honestly won’t care when it does come back…you can’t have people wait that long..it just doesn’t work. I applaud all your work on lg15..but this has turned me off of the show. Maybe I’ll give this all Show Is Yours thing a chance…but honestly..if the videos are the quality of some of the ones I have seen…I can’t see myself actually getting into to it. I’m not trying to be rude…just honest..and this is how I feel…hopefully things will all work out but right now..I have little confidence in this new show idea.

I have mixed feelings about this idea because while I enjoy community series, sometimes they can have the worst actors known to mankind. Crossing my fingers for a good result here.

People are worried about bad quality and everything, but I think thats the reason why the Creators and everyone at LG15 want to see a pilot episode is so that they can make a judgment based on things such as quality, acting, storyline, etc. I have faith that the Creators will pick the perfect show that will cater to everyones wants and needs. We just have to give them a little bit of our trust.
P.S- I’m taking out all the stops for my pilot episode. You’ll just have to wait and see…

i agree with sepia, i to was losing faith in this show until the 12in12 which re-ignited my passion for the show. Now with this community show and no idea when or if LG15: TR will have a second season i feel that viewership will go down lower then it had dropped after LG15 was cancelled, me probabli being one of them.
I think if it looks professional in quality and acting then this could be a successful show but at the moment i am worried for the future of the show if it doesnt live up to expectations
Anyway, just my opinion

I agree with Sepia and Daniel Jenkins… I was losing interest in the show for the entire season. With LG15 I would watch the show AS SOON as I got word it was coming out.
With lg15: tr, a lot of times I wouldn’t watch the show for a few weeks… I had very little interest.
Then, I finally got excited about it again.
And now this is kind of killing that buzz.
I also kind of agree with Charles….. sounds a little bit like trying to use our ideas because there just aren’t any more in the lg15 creative brain.
I’m not trying to offend anyone or make them mad, but this may be the final straw on what gets me moving on to something new…

This is a GREAT opportunity for the community to showcast a completely different point of view. I’m sure many within the community have imagined plot twists, alternate storylines or the like, and I’m sure some of them actually hold some potential.

But you need to be more specific though, It should be a completely different storyline from the previous shows.
You should also state that you cannot use ANY of the characters from the Resistance. It’s a chance to introduce new people, the other guys have their own show. The Order is a gigantic, dangerous and secretive cult spread all over the world, hundreds of storylines can be appear from that.
This is also a GREAT chance to Promote the series.
The chance to make your OWN video series, 8 episodes long? People WILL LOVE that. Advertise this with your own video throuout the entire network of Youtube channels, or try to get ’someone’ to spread the word.
I think you should contact YOUTUBE, this seems like an idea they would definitely support at least to some extent (At least by featuring a video about it in the front page).

I also agree with greenlacebeauty&sepia&daniel jenkins…i lost interest in the resistance but once the 12:12 came around, i started to get interested in it again…but this whole idea is kinda messed up….if i wanted to watch fan made vids i would go to youtube and watch the ones there. I loved lg15 and would check daily but with TR i’ve lost interest till the 12:12(partly cause of daniel returning)..but now our fave characters are just in limbo and you want US to make a story line?? Not liking it. I would like it alot more if you asked the fans to do that AND continue on with the story line. I understand there needs to be a break, so start it up again after the holidays are done with. but dont wait till almost Feb or later. Out of sight out of mind. thats what will happen with me. Keep updating while u ask the fans to submit story lines…thats a diehard fans suggestion*ive been around since right during the time bree was declared fake!*

Honestly, they should have gone with “make the best video blog and get a chance to star in The Resistance season 2. More people would be willing to do that than gathering an army of people to make a show.. and around Christmas.

Who will own the rights to the submitted ideas? Will they become property of Eqal, shared with the submitter? Will there be financial compensation?
I suspect many of the participants in LG15 are under the age of 18. Will their parents/guardians sign consent forms as part of the submission process?
I bring these issues up because a community video inspired by the series is one thing, but if you are actually going to use someone’s ideas in a (hopefully) profit-making venture, there are legal ramifications regarding compensation and intellectual property that should be thought out and clearly stated.

Thanks for such a quick reply! I have a concept, and have allready started the outline and script ideas. However, I do not have anyone to act out the roles, nor proper camera equipment to capture the video ( I mean I have my digital camera, but the quality isn’t that great…lol) Anyways, can we submit the ideas/concpt outline/and script/interactivity, but have you, the creators, cast and produce the actual project? I am really looking forward to this opportunity.

LG15: TSIY is our opportunity to showcase your talent. We want to see you take the LG15 Universe in whatever direction you think best. This is not intended to be LG15: The Resistance Season 2, so feel free to create any story you want in the LG15 Universe. Whether it’s big picture - a war in The Order - or a small window into one person’s life in the Hymn of One through bedroom video blogs- a show does not have to be high concept or have a high production value to be chosen.
Specifically, to answer Rose Crowley, this your production. EQAL’s part in it is to make sure the mythology stays consistent because your show, if chosen, will be considered canon. Rose, I would recommend teaming up with others in the community to produce your idea. I saw many people on the comment board talking about a collaboration, which I think would be fantastic. We are looking for a minimum of 2 videos per week with a total of 16 minimum videos for the entire season. So if 4 of you get together, it would only be 4 videos person for the season.
Redidk - Unfortunately, EQAL cannot grant you any special access to the actors. If you bump into Jessica Rose at the mall and she has some spare time then go ahead and include her.

I think that everyone should really relax. They have a LOT of things on their plate right now, so it might be a little hard to give everyone a definite answer about when LG15: TR is coming back. Does anyone remember that they’re making a show in Italy too? It takes a lot of work to coordinate everything at one time. The new show, the new season, the deal with CBS, and now this opportunity that they’re giving to dedicated fans. I’m sure that they could randomly throw out a date for the new season to shut everyone up, but if they end up moving the date for whatever reason, it would just make everyone even angrier.
So I say, everyone needs to stop demanding a date for when the show is coming back, and let’s just play it all by ear, starting with TSIY. They’re definitely going to get some amazing submissions, so it’s not fair for us to start judging how bad and irrelevant to LG15 they are until we actually see them.
Sorry for this rant, but I just see so many comments on here talking about how this is “the end of LG15″, so I thought I should say something along the lines of this just being “the beginning of much greater things”.

George, I would think that the resistance is probably dead; if it’s not forever, it’s dead for a long while. I think this is the creator’s way of saying they don’t know what to do.
They aren’t going to give us any details because they don’t HAVE any.

Sounds like quite an exciting idea, although I’m going to struggle to get a few people on board for a “pilot”.
My only concerns echo what others have already mentioned, would we be compensated for amount of time and work we would have to put into this?
My other concern - is season 2 of The Resistance going to make an appearance after this fan series? (a long long wait…)

How much work without pay are you expecting these fans to do? How can you expect anyone to create a webseries with no resources and no money?
And don’t give me the “we didn’t have money” bit.. The Cs had real careers prior to lonelygirl15 and, no doubt, plenty of savings. That aside (since it really isn’t the issue at hand) you need to give these people more information before duping them into giving you all their time and effort for free.
What will EQAL own? EQAL needs to create a detailed contract and make it public so that any fans interested in taking part in this know exactly what they are getting into.

i’m actually kinda getting exciting about the community’s views on the lg world. although i’m still worried about the current TAAG. Such a large cliffhanger!!! A large concern of mine is the forum. i’m not happy about it at all. i liked the other one alot more. I hope the C’s decide to change it and make it like the old one. I barely use the one now and I used the old one alot more. Please change it C’s!

I think we should be viewing this more as a “contest” (which I use loosely) than as a job interview.
You see, I don’t think they’re looking for LG15 quality camera work, $3,000 camera and lights, highly payed actors, or anything like that from us, just a compelling story that, pretty much no matter what the quality, will hold the fans’ attention.
Honestly, I feel that the “prize” for this “contest” isn’t and shouldn’t be a cut in the profits (mostly because they aren’t asking us to spend lots/any money on this, and because all they said they would do is broadcast our series on their website on our own, none-partner youtube channel that doesn’t generate income in order to increase hits on our show), but actually the fact that we have a chance to create CANON material and have some sort of influence on the ENTIRE lg15 universe.
I know everyone is saying that they want a “slice of the pie” if they’re going to be putting all this work into a series, but honestly, I think that all that hard work is worth getting that potential exposure for your videos as well as having some sort of say over the lg15 storyline.
Hope I made sense through that shpeel. I wasn’t trying to make anyone angry or upset either, so sorry if I did. Please feel free to criticize me too, I want to know if you see it any differently.

It’s not so much that I think people necessarily deserve a piece of the profits, but I guess it just sort of bothers me that they simply assume people will want to give away their intellectual property for free. After all, these pilots will influence the outcome of the entire show. I think people’s creativity is worth something, even if it’s not money. Is “exposure” within this community enough? Maybe it is?

charles is right… it might not be about the profits, but why do they expect everyone is so willing to give all their creativity away for nothing? Being canon is a fleeting moment- in ten years will they have anything to show for it?
I’m not saying that it’s bad, I’m just trying to play devil’s advocate.
Wouldn’t offering some sort of tangible prize be more… effective in the long run? Ten years from now, how many people are going to say, “I won a contest and created something CANON in a show I watched online” as compared to, “Hey, look at this… it’s some autographed cast photos I won because I got to create canon content for a web series…”
I think having something tangible will give a more lasting impact.

i agree greenlacebeaty, i admit i have tried to watch lonefox, cassieiswatching and other fanfic shows but because the camera quality was bad and the acting was so mediocre, i couldn’t stand watching them anymore so i stopped no matter how good the plot was.
i just don’t want this to happen to the LG15 community because if the same thing happens with this show and no news on the second series of TR, it could be the straw that broke the camels back and i have put to much time into this show for it to go totally balls up because of a silly idea that the creators feel is good for the community.
well there’s my two cents, i will give this series a fair go but i’m seriously not getting my hopes up for my future with this series.

We’ve read your comments and understand your desire for more clarification regarding Season 2 of LG15: The Resistance. We would love to announce a date for Season 2, but that is not possible right now. We are actively looking for sponsors and the second we have more information we will let you know. For now we’re focusing on LG15: The Show is Yours and some other exciting projects that we will be announcing in the new year. We are really looking forward to seeing the creativity from this community and are excited for “pilot season.”

The “The Show Is Yours” concept is pretty daring and no matter the result is likely to keep diehard fans of LG15 checking the site and somewhat active - far better than a total dead zone while waiting for Season 2 of The Resistance.
I would like to see a TSIY or UGC channel/page (in parallel with the main channels) that features multiple user generated shows, with a featured video section (from new attempts, big events, etc.) popping up, and links to individual show pages (which could be individual user accounts that we have now).
If someone is looking for a reason to do a show that would be featured on this site, one thought is that it would be a fairly significant extracurricular activity that you could include on a college application (with a link to the show you wrote and produced). That might help gain you a scholarship for any liberal arts or business degree program, even if not directly related to performance or entertainment. Wow… I thought it would be cool to submit but there is so little time to come up with something that is good quality… I don’t want to submit something that would be rushed or half-”assed”

someone should maybe consider the idea that Bree never died… I mean I have been looking over the comments from all the past videos and everyone is saying bring her back (and its not the same people over and over again)… maybe they faked her death… or she couldn’t die… I mean hell… they faked her “original ceremony” why not this?
(lol) it would cause so much drama and craziness and it could seriously bring a very brillant conclusion to the series (which from what I have been reading, seems like what is trying to be done)… I mean you would have you romantic ideals… bring back the triangle… and you can recreate Bree … I mean it has been a while since she has been gone… hello… badass bree anyone…

This should have been tested a year ago! obviously, the C’s know its been slacking off viewership wise. I like the theory of users submitting show ideas, this is basically what Lonelygirl15 was first based off of, and got off track as some point.
I’m 1/2 afraid, it can’t get back on track, and is an ever expanding universe of what ever becomes canon. I’d like to think this will have an end, but I would be fooling myself!
The series is obviously meant to continue forever, or until… umm, Jonas isn’t sexy anymore!
no j/j but all good things come to an end, and some end sooner than they should, and become cult hits, and some that go on too long, and become, this… sorry to say. Youtube has changed a hell of a lot since Bree first graced its screens, or even since you ended it with Revver! Maybe it was time to end a show while it was good and popular so you could ride the wave into another one with a more open area of youtube viewage.
With the Breeniverse you were always bound by certain laws, and as the Canon network grew wider the ‘rules’ became tighter. This becomes a problem when you continue on the same premise, it all merges into always being the same, and when you try to break the mold, you will always have people say, wtf, that isn’t supposed to be possible… I guess what I’m saying is this series has pinned itself to a corner wall and there’s nothing new to do but make the story more convoluted for purposes of continuing it. Well or the possibility of answers, 1 season or 1 season and a movie
should do it if this thing wants to be wrapped up to satisfaction with 80% or more of the viewers, or it can lose 80% more of its views, as has seemed to have happened.

I think the girl’s name is Cinderella, but i haven’t found any info about her.
She either might have changed her name or she is out of the biz.
