On October 6, 2008, Castaneda quietly released “So This is What We’re Gonna Do” from their Echo Park home. The band’s first batch of fresh tunes in a little while, it’s great to hear Castaneda has found their stride. And it’s great to have them as the featured music throughout today’s 12in12.

Where hopefulness and hopelessness meet you will find something that sounds like Castaneda. Maybe that’s true for The Resistance? No matter what, today is going to be epic.

These are catchy tunes sung by singer Vega Schenk and played by some of the coolest hipsters in town, really. A Castaneda show is said to be a great time. Lots of good looking people nodding in unison to a band that is just turning 1 in a few days. Not a bad start considering Castaneda is in a bunch of films and TV shows and the more you pay attention to Indie stations across the country, the more you see their name in the rotation.

Speaking of going places, thanks for such an amazing season of LG15: The Resistance. The chapters have flown by and it’s been a pleasure working on such a big project for the entire team.
