LG15 Update
We have some exciting news to announce! Over the last several months, we have been working to rebuild the LG15 website. Our programmers and designers have been working tirelessly to code and design a new social network platform. In August, we will relaunch LG15.com as a full-functioning social network with profile pages, chat, forums, comment boards, blogs, groups, and other tools. In the future, we will be integrating third party sites such as YouTube and Twitter into the platform so that you can manage your accounts from LG15.com as well as import your videos, photos, and messaging into your profile pages. We are very excited and eager to show you what we have built. During the month of August we ask you to beta test the site, send us your feedback, and invite friends to join the new and improved LG15 community.
We will also be premiering a new LG15 Universe show based in the US. It will bring together the best parts of lonelygirl15 and KateModern, including some of your favorite characters. To make room for the new storyline and characters, we’ve decided to bring the lonelygirl15 storyline to an end. We are working with amazing writers and actors and are very excited about the new show. To this community, it will feel less like a new show and more like another chapter in the LG15 storyline that picks up where lonelygirl15 and KateModern left off. To new members of the community, it will be a new story that they can get into from the start so they can experience the show without the need to watch over 500 videos. Get ready for an exciting lonelygirl15 finale on August 1!
This is very exciting for all of us and we are so happy to share it with you. It has been a long road and many of you have been there with us from the beginning. We are excited to have you continue with us on this journey. Remember, we are counting on you to test the site during August and September and report your feedback so we can fix all the bugs before the new show launches.

I am so speachless right now….I mean…I’m excited for the new site (mostly since I’m a Twitter-a-holic), and the idea of a show based around elements from my 2 favorite online shows….but….woah….
I NEVER though that lonelygirl would EVER come to an end….especially this soon after the end of KateModern……
I just hope that the new show has a catchy name like Lonelygirl15 or KateModern….and that they don’t kill off my favorite characters….

Wow…this totally feels like the fans have been betrayed for the potential for new fans. I personally liked that LG15 and KM where separate…sticking characters from both shows seems silly to me. As for a new storyline and more new crap…I like the current stuff…why improve something that doesn’t need improvement?? Don’t fix what isn’t broken

I think this is actually a good idea. I regret not making use of the Bebo interactivity until Julia’s Wedding, so I think this social network could be a really good thing. It’s time fo LG15 to become independant, yeah?
And if it includes our favorite characters from LG15 and KM… Does that really mean we’ll be getting characters from KM over there? I’d love that, I really, really, would. I already miss KM!
And I feel that LG15 just isn’t as good as it once was now, so I hope this new series will be great. Oh yeah, and I wish the finale would be on August 3rd - just to make that date really memorable!

i love how the moment you posted this, everyone is going to have there opinions and ideas about how you shouldnt end it and its not over yet, and its just silly doing what your doing.
but you’ve been doing this for years, both shows became an amazing experience.. i had fun watching each episode, solving puzzles, seeing what the main characters got into.
i was obsessed with lonelygirl, when KM came out i wasnt sure i would like it. but i fell in love with it as well, i can understand though why people are upset or even sad about this ending, you probably are too. working all this time, now its got to end.
like daniel in one of the videos said, maybe its time for them to consider different paths. and they might not even be there when jonas comes home. who knows. except you guys of course.
but, this new show..this new site, whatever you do with it, will be amazing. and i will watch it, and possibly even enjoy it.
congratulations on so many years of the most amazing shows ive ever seen. (seriously, they’re better than whats on television, except..perhaps a show that ended years ago called Buffy The Vampire Slayer, best show ever. besides lonelygirl, katemodern)
i know what its like to love something, and have it end. and yeah.. i probably will be upset after its gone, like i was when harry potter came to an end. you just get so attached to characters, its like you know them. you can relate to them. and then you lose them.

WHOA… That’s like… whoa. Pardon my Keanu moment. I started wondering because of the direction LG15 was going, but I didn’t actually expect it.
Though I like the idea of merging characters from LG15 and KM into one show with a new storyline. Maybe Jonas and Steve reuniting once more?
I dunno, I think out of everybody who could come back from either show… I say Emma and Jennie are gone… and Daniel’s probably gonna vamoose, as well, which means Sarah’s going with him. Similarly, I think Charlie from KM isn’t coming back…
Hopefully Steve and Lee stick around. I loved those guys. But Lee’s with Sophie, and I doubt he’d leave to come to America. Then again, Steve’s with Charlie, so I doubt he’d leave. Gavin?
Or maybe it’s more older characters. They did say we wouldn’t have to know LG15 or KM to know the new show. Maybe they’ll bring back Taylor and Spencer (God, I hope Spencer. He was awesome). But then who from KM? GAH!

I could tell LG15 was ending but I thought it was coming to a season finale. As long as there’s another US show in the LG15 world I’ll be happy (I loved KM but sometimes I couldn’t pick up on the British lingo as I’m sure some of the UK watchers felt about LG15).

I really hope Jonas, Daniel, Sarah, and Jenny will be involved in the new show. I’m excited for something new, but I’m not ready to let go of the old! Anyway, I’m a devoted follower, and I promise to try out the new show no matter who’s on it.
The end is always bittersweet. I’m a little sad… but I am SO excited for the finale!!! I vote for another 12 in 12! :]

I was thinking the other day how “Revelations” is the last book in the Bible… and I was hoping that this would mean absolutely nothing about this show.
I never wanted LG15 to end, I still don’t.
Like someone else said, I’m willing to give the new stuff a try…. but I never wanted it to come to this.
I’ll trust your judgment though, creators… but I’m still heartbroken.

I… I just can’t believe it. If you are creating the new series with old characters, just please let the legacy the characters we’ve come to know and love live on. We have come so far, and I know the entire community would hate to see the people we have known for the past 3 years to fade away.

I’m so sad. Lonelygirl15 is one of the highlights of my days. KateModern was too. However, I have been seeing this coming for some time now, but I just hoped I was wrong. All well, Lonelygirl15 and KateModern will always have a special place in my heart and I know that you guys will do a fabulous job with the new show. I would just to say, Creators, you’ve done something that made so many people happy and you should be proud of yourselves. I know you can do it again. Thank you so much for the hours of entertainment and the lasting memories!

Wow… Somehow it seemed like it would never end… just go on forever and ever and ever, as impractical as that is. I literally almost cried when I read that, as dorky as that sounds.
But a thought occurred to me: What if they bring back Bree? Haha I know, no contract renewal, and Greek, and whatever… but what IF?
That would make it so worthwhile to see her again

i kind of had a feeling this was coming, what with katemodern all ending and LG15 feeling like it was wrapping up. i just.. i can’t wait to see what happened. i just can’t believe there’s a series FINALE schedule. for LG15. like wow.
but i commend the Creators for two awesome shows. and i can’t wait for this new show! a fresh and new storyline sounds good to me.

First, I didn’t go to the blog first- I went to the pedia and heard it was ending. And all I could think was “No! No no no no no no no!!!”
But the fact that it contains some of the characters, and is more like an extension than an ending, I think I might handle.

I started crying when I saw this. I wasn’t here at the very beginning but close enough. I remeber seeing the whole scandle of it on mtv news and decided to see what the fuss was about. And once I watched it, it was just amazing. Sure some people stopped watching after they found out it was staged but still, this series in some ways made me excited to help solve and think. I kneww that lg15 would come to an end and theres nothing we people can do about it. Alot of people think that by whining that they’ll change their minds, but they won’t. To the creators of lg15 and KM, I just want to say congratulations and wish you a goodluck with the new series. I can’t wait for august 1 to come around and then i can’t wait for the new series. All I have to say is instead of 12 in 12 you guys should expand it!

On the one hand I really agree with the “don’t fix what is broken” statement made above, but on the other hand I’m really curious what the new show is all about. I personally don’t like KM and I actually DREAD the coming together of the two shows, but you’ve surprised me so many times in the past with new plotlines and characters that I think it will turn out for the best. A new and improved site sounds equally amazing to me, but just don’t go over the top. All LG:15 and KM fans need to get used to the new stuff and the transition will be kinda hard on some (like with Bree dying, massive hysteria).
And in between the season finale and the launch of the new site..please get some random stuff we can watch, like bloopers. For the most of us LG15 has been something to look forward to every day and 2 months without..you might be losing some people there.
I also don’t agree with someone’s statement that you’re just trying to get new fans. I still think the value of the “oldest” LG15 watchers is most important, and the C’s have always listened to our input about characters and plotlines etcetc. I don’t think it’s fair to just say they’re looking for new fans.
Change is good. The internet is a fast changing medium so LG15 is bound to have some changes made. I’m looking forward to this new show, as long as some familiar people, plotlines and fan interaction will stay.

I knew LG15 had to end sometime but not so soon after KM. I was’nt really into KM as i couldnt get into the characters, but ive been religously following LG15 since near the beginning. Im just so sad.
I really hope Jackson and Yousef will be staying with you guys as, hand on heart i will NOT be watching this new thing. First im upset, now im starting to become angry, damn, this has just ruined my whole week, no my whole summer

As I usually am, but then Lonelygirl15 makes everything better! You know, I didn’t really even watch KateModern too too much, so I wasn’t that sad about it ending, but now LG15! :/
Seriously, LG15 still has so many plot holes that you need to go into first (taking down Lucy, who killed Elizabeth, Sacred Spirit, and TONS of others).
And what about the new Italian show?! So basically you’re making the new one, plus an Italian one that nobody will really watch o.o (at least, I won’t)

I was hoping this would come. LG15’s plotline has been chewing on its own tail for a while now, and with the end of KateModern, it’s time for some fresh material. And the fact that this new series will include characters and situations from both series together makes it twice as good.

I thought it was a brilliant move to end KateModern when it was at its height. And now that LG15 is getting better (after a slump), I’m extremely excited for it to come to a dramatic close. Then, we can look at the series at a completed entity.
That said, I would be MUCH more devastated if there weren’t a new show on the horizon. I am TRHILLED to hear that we’ll be getting a new series.

Ok, as a fan I’m going to be brutally honest here. I am really not excited about bringing the two shows together. Even though the shows are set in the same ‘universe’, KM has different writers, actors, and frankly an different demographic (imo) than LG15. All KM characters seem to be in their mid 20’s, with maybe the exception of Lauren, and all of LG15’s characters seem to be 21ish or under. Not to mention there is also a cultural difference involved between the two sets of characters. I just don’t see how they are going to interact with eachother, and I definitely don’t see how all the KM characters can realistically pop up in America with the TAAG. And maybe I’m being pessimistic, (I admit it), but that’s my initial reaction.
On a brighter note, I’m really excited about the website updates. I think that will turn out great.

I watched a couple of the first katemodern shows and couldn’t get in to it. So I hadn’t kept up with it. It ended, I didn’t care.
I did care about Bree dying, and Gina. I started to really care about Sarah and Daniel, even Jonas. Never cared for Jenni or Emma. I realize your writers are running out of steam on this plot, but there are so many things that you guys can do with the storyline still.
As someone else said, it feels like you are kicking your old fans aside just for the idea of having new ones. This could end up being the biggest mistake of your lives. Not all of your old fans got in to Katemodern, which is partly why it ran out of steam so quickly. It is very likely that a lot of your old fans will stop watching the new series and even more likely that you won’t pick up as many fans as you think you will. The fact that you’ve all lost steam on Lg15 and katemodern just goes to show that you aren’t going to be able to keep a new series up for very long.

I hate to say it but this is a very good thing. The show was just repeating the same story lines and the overall writing has gotten a lot worse.

I am going to miss Jonas most of all, he is my overall favorite character in all of lonelygirl15. Him and Bree take the prize as the best characters. It says they will bring together some of our favorite characters. So does that mean Bree and Jonas could be in the new series? I really hope Jonas is

Could we get some clarification on the expected schedule? The post seems to say that Lonelygirl15 storyline will end August 1, that there will be beta testing of the new website in August and September, and bugs will be fixed before the new shows launches.
Does that mean there will be no new videos during all of August and September? (or is some lesser downtime anticipated?)

I used to be really proud to be a part of the LG15 community, because it was something unique and exciting and fresh. I almost wrote the creators something about how they positively motivated me for a Psychology project. But now, the creators have let me down.
LG15 was supposed to be different, something unique. Clearly it’s not. It’s just another television series, being canceled at the whim of the executives. The video on eqal.com used to excite me, but it’s just a lie.
This is how it’s going to happen: Jennie will leave like she said, or will stay around a little but longer but ultimately decide to leave for the same reasons she said she was going to. Daniel and Sarah will realize that they need to get away to make their relationship work, so they’ll leave to be the blissfully happy boyfriend and girlfriend. Jonas will remain, fighting The Order (and probably the only Lonelygirl15 character that will carry over into the “new series”). Original.

I’m glad they ended Katemodern gracefully and I’m glad they are ending lonelygirl15. I think it’s time for something new. I love both shows and I’m happy to see that they are putting the best parts of each together.

Yeah, like some other people have said, I doubt that I’ll continue to watch after the finale of this storyline. I understand that the 500+ videos is overwhelming for potential new fans (I know I was overwhelmed when I first started to watch last winter), but this season should have been longer: its barely started! I feel like old fans haven’t gotten all the answers and details we’ve wanted yet, and I doubt we will within the month.
I hope you keep Daniel, Jonas, & Sarah, but I doubt they’ll all stay. I hope the new show is better than KateModern (sorry to fans of KM, but it just bored me). Remember C’s: flashy social networking can be overrated & overused, and the only way to bring in/keep fans is a good plot that keeps fans happy & excited.

Congratulations Creators on breaking new ground in storytelling with Lonelygirl15! Although I think it lost a lot of energy (and apparently a lot of viewers) after Bree was killed off, I think it was a valuable addition to the world of entertainment.

And I thought my fellow Harry Potter fans were bad. I don’t see why you people are so pissed off. Shows end. That’s what they do. LG15 wasn’t ‘canceled’. It’s ending. America is one of the few countries in which shows actually have extended seasons for shows. Look at shows in Mexico (the telenovellas) that have set plots with a beginning and an end… and they run for that time before ending and the next one comes out. Look at anime in Japan in which most shows can be anywhere between 7 and 30 or so episodes before coming to an end.
There’s no reason to get all hostile at the creators. Some of the things I’ve read in these comments are just silly. No offense to you people, but… seriously now.

I am actually glad to hear this I was finding the show Jumped the shark a long time ago and seems to just drag on and on. Going to no where and moving no where. I only watched to because I watched every single one. IT is like the old band you loved as a child you still buy the new Cd only because you want them all. I still have not even listen to the CD. Yes LG15 was getting boring. I was hoping it to end. Losing Kate was very dispointing I love the char they were alot of fun. I did like all of Kate’s cast. With LG15 only one I like it is Daniel but I would understand if he is not in the show. It would be nice to see him act in other stuff so if he moved on I would be fine. I just hope you don’t keep Jonas his char can be a pain. Good luck with the new show you may get to keep me watching.

To be honest, I thought that I would find this devasting. However, I find it oddly satisfying. It seems like the series has been struggling with one long storyline for awhile. As much as I have absolutely loved every single episode, I can see how it would be hard for people who started too late to watch every single one. Also, it will be nice to finally see the plotholes come to a close, and I am pacified to know that characters will return in a (hopefully) even better version.
I wish the LG15 cast and crew all of the best as they make this exciting transition and congratulate them on the success that allowed the transition to be possible. I am looking forward to see what you all come up with next. I promise that you will have a viewer in me as well as likely a few more in the friends that I plan on converting!

Oh, one more thing:
I think it would be fantastic if you could keep posting videos on the InsideLG15 account, showing how former cast members are doing and what they have been up to. I love the videos that you post there, and I think that this could be a great way to feel like we aren’t truly losing the actors and crew members that have come to be so respected and adored.

As much as I love LG15 I think it’d be great to have a fresh start - in fact, I wouldn’t mind if none of the characters from the original LG15 are in the new one.

P.S. I think Daniel will leave to take a project with Del Mundo (he mentioned that in a previous video…), Jonas will carry on to the next series since he’s apparently ‘the chosen one’, Jennie will leave to get her degree, and Sarah will just be I guess. Don’t get rid of Sarah. No, no, no. All the characters are incompetent, but I like her.

I’m still in complete shock over what is happening. I nearly started crying when I read that the series was coming to an end. I have been apart of LG15 land since the very beginning, even before the “coming out” that it was a produced show and not some 15 year old girl on YouTube posting a video blog. Once I found out it was “fake” it did not phase me one bit as it was excellent storytelling. Plus the Characters were real to me.
I have many many fond memories of LG15, though I hardly got into KM I watched it time to time, it just was not for me especially with the product placement (talk about movies in theaters and such) … with LG15 it to me still was a personal video even though I did notice the product placements and I thought the story moved more smoothly. (perhaps it could have been because I had watched from the beginning, and threw theories around with the original fans assisting to break codes and figure out who OpAphid and Tachyon were and if they were really apart of the Breeniverse)
I’m a littlet anxious to find out what is going to happen next and how the series will end. Though the new series will not be the same for me, simply because I loved how I was “tricked” into believing that everything was real.
Creators, thanks again for the excellent memories. I will be marking my Calendars for August 1st. I cant wait to see what you have hiding up your sleeves.

its a bit depressing. i mean we’ve all gotten to know the characters and it is like we know them. and we’ve helped with clues and seen them fall in love and go through heartache and death. its all been so exciting going through that with all the characters.
but we all knew deep inside it wasn’t going to last forever,
i just hope it turns out well. :]

I am heartbroken over the news that LG15 is ending. I’ve been a fan since day 1. I can’t believe it. It’s funny how emotionally involved you get in a series. I feel like everyone of the characters is a friend of mine and I’m going to miss them dearly!

I’m devastated. I knew it couldn’t go on forever, but I’m probably the longest LG viewer. I sobbed when Bree died, and I think I’m going to sob when the show dies. This show kept me sane as my mom died of cancer, and was the backdrop to the last summer I had with her, and the summer I fell in love with the boy that is now my husband. This show has really been everything to me. So much more than the creators could know.
Thank you so much for this show. It’s been a way for me to escape reality and enter a new universe. I wish it never had to end, but I understand that it does. I look forward to what you have in store for us.

I come back from a 2 week holiday and this is what I see? The ending of g15, just after the ending of KM!
But I have to say, I saw this coming. The show was no way near the level it had in the first season. I think it’s good to end it and then come back with a new, fresh show. But I really hope we will see Jonas, Daniel and Sarah back. They just belong to the Breeniverse and I don’t want to say goodbye to them. And please, bring back some KM characters! Charlie, Steve and Lauren, they are great and I wanna see them interacting with Jonas, DB and Sarah. I’m looking forward to the new show and I hope the final will be an amazing 12in12 (or 24in24 haha).

I CAN´T REALLY CAN´T BELIEVE IT, I have been fan of this series since the first video, and well in fact, the first thing I do every morning in my work is checking out the lonelygirl site and check for new videos, and well, now knowing it´s ending, I feel with a kind of hole in my stomach, it´s rare, but it´s true… I hope the new series will be good and help us fill the hole lg15 will leave, really really lg15 rocks, and I will miss it a lot!
