Who is Carl?
Carl first came onto the scene during Season 1 when Daniel and Jonas attended a party with Aunt Alex. Since then Carl has become a recurring character within the Hymn of One, Lullaby Project, and now as Sarah’s boyfriend.

Tell us what you think of Carl. What are his motivations? Does he really love Sarah?

Nobody seemed to be as freaked about Carl’s behavior at Aunt Alex’s party as I was. He was so belligerent, and hateful. He reminded me of so many people that ruin party’s and bully people because they just hate the world.
When I went to the Hymn of One Seminar to “audition”, Carl & Sonya were the 2 who let led the meeting. You can imagine my surprise to find out that very same abrasive a-hole was the same guy who gave me a kazoo and asked us to chant “The Hymn of One is fun”.
I believe that I was the first to call him Creepy Carl after that LOL.

Oh c’mon, we saw Carl talking to Lucy. Suspicious much? On the other hand, the fact that Sarah went away for weeks with him and still returned safely makes me unsure. Then again, he is the main guy at Sacred Spirit, and there was an SS on the whiteboard about the Order’s fronts. Hmm…

I think Carl really does love Sarah! And I think she really loves him, too. How could you not love a face like that? But honestly, I believe Carl will end up on our side - and he will like it. I hope Carl stays a regular, becomes part of the gang.

It honestly seems like Carl wants really wants to do right, despite his previous connections to the Hymn of One. && I think that he really cares for Sarah. [Hence the love letter.] I dunno, he seems really open and almost … vulnerable around Sarah.
Not sure what his motivations are since Carl hasn’t made them known point blank yet. But it’s obvious he wants to help, his actions bely that because he turned his back on the Hymn for Sarah to join up with her and the others …

I’m fairly sure that Carl has good intentions at this point and does really like Sarah, but I have a feeling he’s going to be drawn back to the HoO because of some sort of misgivings within TAAG (like Daniel being a jerk or Jonas being a moron) and try to kill Sarah in order to ascend. I’m also working on a theory where he’ll go to London and carry on Steve’s cult for him after whatever happens in the KM finale. Hah.

Hmmm.
I think he’s trustworthy enough, he doesn’t strike me as anything. He only will become something within the order if the viewers want it.

I trust Carl. He and Sarah are a good couple, but he’s still creepy and he should at least mention his ex-girlfriend Sonia once.

I like carl…but i still would like to see daniel and sarah together <3
he’s a cool character being all nerdy and all :)… i like how he’s been an every-now-and-then type character, but i personally would like to see him develope into a more “main characterish person”…. maybe let him do a few of his own blogs explaining what his motives are and if he really loves sarah… which i believe he does

Carl… I think Sarah’s rockin bod can undo any brainwashing done by the Hymn/Order. I don’t necessarily think he’s in love, as much as he’s in lust.

Carl is good… he started bad, but he’s not staying that way. He loves Sarah. A lot. And I think now he’s found his true self.

Carl is a plant. He might not be part of the Hymn anymore, but he is part of the Sacred Spirit. On the whiteboard in the resistance bunker it lists the Sacred Spirit along with the hymn of one, the wyman foundation, Verdus, and the lullaby project. Carl’s goal was to lure sarah in by acting like he was in trouble and have her killed so he can advance in the order. But he failed, because Emma stepped up.

i hate carl and all his creepiness he’s the most plain character with no personality and he’s HoO and SS so i don’t trust him
he’s also geting it on with sarah so i hate him even more
i soooo had my hopes up when the bomb was ticking but emma had to go and save him…….. good for emma she’s great but i wanted a boom and a krispy carl with it
besides i want to watch the sarah-daniel-gina love triangle
plus i think almost everyone on carl’s corner are girls that think he’s hot and he really loves sarah so ok lets say he’s finaly good and he’s not HoO any more then are u ok with sarah just being with him and still have feelings for daniel?

I’m not sure, if we can really trust Carl for all the mentioned reasons above and in the knowledge how fast there can happen a plot twist on lg15
but I’m starting to like Carl more and more and I see many potential in his history, there could have happened a lot to him that brought him to the HoO (even Jonas parents - former fighters against the order - ended up in the HoO till he found them),
besides we don’t know anything about Carl’s family, little about his (true?) feelings for Sarah and have no idea what kind of important informations he could have to help the TAAG bring down the order
a new character has always the possibility to make the show more interessting and of course could produce more plot holes
anyway, if he is a good one (I would prefer this version) or a bad one (he has also a lot potential to be a mighty opponent to the TAAG, he already proved that), I hope that Carl becomes one of the regular cast (even one of the TAAG), because I really like the actor and I think he would a big profit for the show

I would love for Carl to be some kind of double agent, either for the bad or good guys. I also think we need to have more testosterone in the TAAG, so I’m up for anything that keeps Carl in the picture on a more permanent basis. Also, I would love it if his character were developed in a more rapid way than was Emma’s. I’m just now really starting to like her, and I think that Carl’s development should be quicker in order for fans to become attached. People would start coming out of the woodwork and really proclaiming a stronger affinity or dislike of the character, instead of all this wishy-washy “I’m not sure” opinion giving.

I think he can really love Sarah, but he should not be trusted! I see him being torn. He was sent on a mission to infiltrate the TAAG by using Sarah. What he didn’t expect was to fall in love with her. Regardless, I think he has someone he’s answering to within the HoO, and the organization will not take his feelings into consideration when they strike.

Sarah’s had such rotten luck with guys and she seems pretty happy with Carl.
He’s cute too, I really like him.
I much prefer Sarah/Carl to Sarah/Daniel of late.

if he is a parallel character to Rupert than no! He and Rupert seem so much alike. Especially with the whole good guy thing and then abusing their gfs. Like rupert with Julia and Carl with Sonya. Then again he could be like steve. IDK anymore!?!?

Onychea, I agree that we need more men in TAAG. I love all the girls (well I can’t say I love Sarah but I no longer hate her..that much) but we need more than just DB and Jonas. I wish Spencer would come back personally. And where the heck is Taylor?!

at this point in the series, Carl was starting to grow on me. i’ve thought of him as a good guy, even. but the fact we’re being asked this is making me second guess myself… and it seems that he really likes sarah.
i don’t know if he is, but i want him to be good…

For the sake of Sarah’s character, Carl’s feelings for Sarah *must* be true. Daniel has been a complete asshole to her, and she deserves better. I really don’t see how Sarah’s character could be salvageable if she’s being used / manipulated by Carl.

I’m not a fan of Carl, but I think he honestly, truly loves Sarah. He reminds me of Steve from KateModern - I don’t think either of them are bad people, but there’s something inherently creepy about them.
I want Carl to be a good person, but I don’t trust him. He’s been pretty nasty at times in the past, and it ought to take more than love to change that. So until we find out why he left the HoO, I ain’t buying it.
Oh, and I agree with all the people who said it’ll be good if he sticks around. I’d like to see him become a fully-fledged member of the TAAG.
