inside LG15

Because my boss is awesome, I recently got some time off work. And I thought, what better way to spend it than by traveling the country and along the way getting to meet some of our wonderful community members? My dear stuffed life-mate Bethany, star of LonelyJew15, joined me on this voyage.

My first stop was New Boston, Ohio to visit the one, the only, PJ AKA SonofaStich. PJ works with Adam Daroff and I on LonelyJew15 (as well as the million other community projects he’s worked on) and I truly consider him the little brother I never had. Meeting PJ was just like continuing all the hours and hours of IRC conversations we have had…but in PERSON! PJ helped me name my rental car: SparkleAut.

Next came a trip to Turbotville, Pennsylvania to visit the amazing and wonderful Sheetzjunkie! Sheetz has been a long-standing member of the community, is a DJ on BreeFM as well as currently working on the ARG series Creature, Inc. Sheetz and her husband, whom we affectionately call Toothbone, had a great time exploring her hometown including a local nature preserve.

Then it was off to Chicago to enjoy some authentic Chicago Deep Dish pizza with someone we all know and love dearly: hopefulsemblance. I’ve come to know hopeful through every aspect of lonelygirl: the forums, IRC, comment boards…I’ve enjoyed his community videos and followed his fantastic LG-related blog. Bethany was especially excited to meet him since giving a heartfelt acceptance speech after LonelyJew was awarded two prestigious Hopey Awards this year. The two got along smashingly and hopeful commented, “gosh, she’s a lot smaller than I expected her to be!”
